Biographical Information -
Born in Prescott Arizona, 1966, Randsom and his family moved to Joseph, Utah in the summer of 1974. It was here that Randsom's interest in wildlife began while roaming the hills and river bottoms, fishing, hunting or just exploring. He began to notice the works of Outdoor Life Magazine artist Leon Parson and Clark Bronson and dream of being a wildlife artist and illustrator.
After serving a mission for the LDS Church, Randsom did just that, by attending Ricks College, where he followed the tutelage of Leon Parson for the next three years. With the love of and support from his wife Kelleen, he began to plan a career in wildlife art.
With a Bachelor's Degree from Utah State University, with an emphasis in illustration, and a growing family he continued to develop his skills and style through commercial illustration.
Randsom now lives in Escalante, Utah and has created a body of work that delights the outdoor enthusiast and art collector alike. Randsom enjoys painting in two distinct styles, both a realistic portrayal of his subject and an impressionistic approach. Although visually different, both are influenced by the same train of thought - imposing the principles of light, color and design.
His awards include the Award of Merit" Society of Illustrators in New York City, 1993; the 1997 "National Collectors Award" Arts for the Parks; and the "National Mule Foundation "Artist of the Year" 2006.
His studio in Escalante provides him the opportunity to paint in the country which he feels the Lord created especially for the small-town boy who loves to paint.
