the artist

It has never been my intention to become a painter of detail but rather an illusionist. To give the impression of detail with as few brush strokes as possible.  As you view my paintings closely you will see a wide variety of brush strokes, implying the texture of hair with out actually painting each hair.  I believe in painting what I see, not necessarily what I know.  I’ve been referred to at times as the Dr. Jeckel Mr. Hyde painter. One day I might approach a painting with sensitivity and another with great vigor and explosion. Before I begin each painting I decide what I want the painting to say, and if just a few brush strokes say it, I leave it, and restrain from the detail. I have ruined many paintings overworking them. As you view my work I hope you enjoy seeing it for what it truly is… A painting.
